Well, today I turn the big 3-4. It's quite the milestone birthday, wouldn't you say? Last year I experienced the best birthday of all, but it wasn't mine. It was that of my son being born. Life has become more about him now than about me, and as I enter fatherhood, I am seeing youthfulness all over again.
Since I've now lived through over three decades, I thought it might be interesting to reflect back on what happened on this day over the last ten years of each decade, so I found out what happened on Aug. 24, 2010, Aug. 24, 2000, Aug. 24, 1990, and then on Aug. 24 1986. How have things changed with each passing of ten years? My parents bought me a book called 1986 Remember When...A Nostalgic Look Back in Time yesterday, which highlighted all of the major events of that year. It was quite an interesting read, and I hope you find the facts and figures I find equally interesting.
